Alice Asmar

  • Born in Flint, Michigan of Lebanese and Greek descent.
  • Started drawing and painting at a very early age and was considered a child prodigy, winning awards and recognition before the age of 10.
  • Graduated with honors from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR; completed an MA degree at The University of Washington in Seattle
  • She was an art instructor at Lewis and Clark College (1955-1958)
  • Following further study and international travel, she eventually relocated to California.
  • Her work includes Southwestern themes of Indian Ceremonial dances and dramas, Indian portraits and landscapes.
  • Exhibitions include the Smithsonian Institution, Franklin Mint, Portland Art Museum, Gene Autry Hotel in Palm Springs and others.
