About
Alice Asmar
Born in Flint, Michigan of Lebanese and Greek descent.
Started drawing and painting at a very early age and was considered a child prodigy, winning awards and recognition before the age of 10.
Graduated with honors from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR; completed an MA degree at The University of Washington in Seattle
She was an art instructor at Lewis and Clark College (1955-1958)
Following further study and international travel, she eventually relocated to California.
Her work includes Southwestern themes of Indian Ceremonial dances and dramas, Indian portraits and landscapes.
Exhibitions include the Smithsonian Institution, Franklin Mint, Portland Art Museum, Gene Autry Hotel in Palm Springs and others.
