Charles Hewitt
- Born in 1946 in Lewiston, Maine.
- His art was influenced by the mill-working communities in which he grew up, where life centered on the church, the family and work.
- His first solo exhibition was at St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1974.
- Awards include the New York State Foundation for the Arts, for painting in 1999; the New York State Foundation for the Arts for Drawings and Prints in 1997, and the New York State Council on the Arts, CAPS Grant.
