Franklin Arbuckle
Born in Toronto in 1909 and died there in 2001
Studied at the Ontario College of Art under J.E.H. MacDonald, F.S. Haines, and J.W. Beatty
Established his own studio in 1930.
Taught at the Northern Vocational School in Toronto and at the Franz Johnston Summer School in Georgian Bay.
He completed illustrations for the Hudson Bay Company as well as cover illustrations for nearly 100 editions of MacLean’s magazine.
Paintings have been shown in almost every major exhibition in Canada, at the World’s Fair in New York, and in numerous other settings.
