Franklin Arbuckle

  • Born in Toronto in 1909 and died there in 2001
  • Studied at the Ontario College of Art under J.E.H. MacDonald, F.S. Haines, and J.W. Beatty
  • Established his own studio in 1930.
  • Taught at the Northern Vocational School in Toronto and at the Franz Johnston Summer School in Georgian Bay.
  • He completed illustrations for the Hudson Bay Company as well as cover illustrations for nearly 100 editions of MacLean’s magazine.
  • Paintings have been shown in almost every major exhibition in Canada, at the World’s Fair in New York, and in numerous other settings.
