Guy Buffet

Born in January 1943 in Paris.
Showed an interest and skill as an artist at the age of 12; sold his first piece of art at the age of 13.
Enrolled in the Beaux Arts School of Toulon to study art full-time at the age of 14.
While studying he also worked in restaurants to provide financially for his family. These early years in restaurant settings became a theme of his art through his career, drawing fame for his humorous art, prints and posters of restaurant and bar scenes, featuring chefs, waiters and barmen, food and drink.
Joined the Navy at the age of 18 and for the next two years explored the world as a sailor, with his artistic talent put to use in many new settings.
After leaving the navy, his travels throughout the world have provided inspiration for his art and opportunities for numerous exhibitions and corporate commissions.
