Walter Henry “Jack” Beal, Jr. (June 1931 – August 2013)
American realist painter, born in Richmond, VA
Studied at the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Achieved recognition in the 1960s and 1970s for defining the New Realism.
Exhibitions: Allen Frumkin Galleries in New York and Chicago, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and others.
