Norman Anthony (Toni) Onley

  • November 1928 – February 2004
  • Born in Douglas, Isle of Man, and moved to Canada in 1948, living in Ontario.
  • Known for his landscapes, depicting the northern Canadian landscape, and later abstract works, after spending time in Mexico.
  • Upon his return to Canada in 1958, he was invited to do a solo exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery, which gained him wide recognition.
  • He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
