Richard Victor Stanley

  • Studied art formally in England and was trained to create in a variety of media including painting in both acrylics and oil, casting in bronze and silver, gold plating, and sculpting in granite or marble.
  • Found employment in the field of design and engineering, but desired a career as an artist.
  • In 1978, he approached the Greenpeace Group with an image and a poster concept he hoped they would use in their Save the Whales campaign. They chose his work, which became the first of many commissioned by various wildlife groups.  His career as an artist with a passion for saving wildlife and our natural heritage was launched.
  • His work is found in many private and corporate collections across North America and in Europe.
